WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Senior Event Production Technician plays a critical hands-on role in the technical design, setup, execution, and support of onsite, hybrid, and virtual events for an established multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company. This role is responsible for:

Using their technical expertise and creative innovation to contribute to the overall technical strategy of live events based on the creative vision and unique event scope.

Utilizing deep knowledge of video equipment and technology to ensure flawless operation of all video equipment and decision-making skills to make real-time adjustments as needed to ensure quality control.

Collaborating with team members to optimize the operational setup of the production control room and oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of all aspects of the client’s production facilities and control rooms.
- This role will also be required to support virtual event production and live meeting execution in a producer capacity, including managing event flow, platform operations, speaker coordination, and real-time show direction depending on event scope and complexity.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Coordination & Meeting Support

Provide technical consultation on the production design of live and virtual event experiences through professional quality video, audio, lighting, and presentation to allow the client and external partners to connect and communicate their message in a distinct and technologically innovative way to colleagues and customers alike.

Support the coordination and execution of virtual meetings and events across enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and comparable technologies, including live production support and moderation as needed.
- Meet with client teams to understand event scope and provide a strategy and solution to meet production requirements.

Act in a producer or technical producer capacity when required, including managing show flow, coordinating speakers, controlling timing, and ensuring smooth execution of virtual and hybrid events.
- Coordinate the technical production needs for all events and ensure requirements are in full compliance with established policies and procedures.

Support presenter preparation, including rehearsals, run-throughs, technical checks, and live-day readiness.

Ensure fully quality check and optimization of facility, event assets, and experience prior to production.
- Assist with presenter preparation including direction, facilitating rehearsal and other pre-event needs.

Oversee postproduction needs including basic editing and delivery of recordings.

Organize event metrics and feedback and provide recommendations on areas for improvement.

Participate in assessment of technical challenges and oversee creation of incident and postmortem reports.

Collaborate on the assessment and recommendation of solutions around overall strategy for event spaces based on operational requirements.
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with team members to ensure alignment on event procedures, scheduling, and production briefs as required.
Technical Events
-
Oversee the production design, setup and configuration of all necessary control room elements to ensure a high-quality event for client productions.

Determine and validate required hardware, equipment, and technical assets for events, ensuring readiness through testing and quality control processes.
- Operate and support full production workflows, including but not limited to:
- technical direction and show control
- audio mixing and sound management
- virtual and hybrid production platforms
- graphics creation and playout systems
- video playback and media server operation
- live streaming and encoding workflows
- Execute virtual events on various virtual event platforms such as Microsoft Teams Town Hall
- Apply expert knowledge of production equipment to optimize configurations, troubleshoot issues, and support repair or replacement decisions.
- Mentor Event Technicians and collaborate on the strategy of training programs to develop personnel and ensure they have the skillset and knowledge to effectively perform their roles and provide recommendations and opportunities for advancing capabilities.

Serve as the primary onsite support for troubleshooting of all control related equipment.

Perform regular preventative maintenance on all production equipment and ensure optimization of all equipment configurations and setups, and initiate troubleshooting of more complex issues.

Coordinate repair and maintenance support needs with location and regional technical leadership to ensure operational readiness of facility.

Support postproduction workflows including basic editing and creation of supporting graphics or event assets.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have skills & job qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in live event production, broadcast, video production, or related technical event environments.
- 3+ years of experience supporting onsite, virtual, and hybrid live events.
- Strong studio and control room production experience, including hands-on operation of live event systems.

Experience with control room equipment including video switchers, audio consoles, robotic cameras, and video playback systems.
- Knowledge of virtual production environments and enterprise meeting platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom).

Ability to support virtual event production and execution in a producer or technical producer capacity, including managing event flow, speaker coordination, and live show operations.
- Strong understanding of broadcast production workflows, signal flow, and live event execution.

Ability to make real-time technical decisions under pressure to maintain broadcast quality and event continuity.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and consistent operational discipline.
- Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative within production teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with clients, presenters, and production stakeholders.
- Proven ability to maintain composure and deliver high-quality results in fast-paced, high-pressure live event environments.
- Strong work ethic, adaptability, and commitment to white-glove service standards.
Nice-to-have skills

Experience with production switchers including TriCaster, or equivalent platforms.

Experience with audio systems including Yamaha consoles, Dante, Shure, and professional intercom systems.

Experience with encoding/decoding systems or equivalent streaming infrastructure.
- Experience with Adder KVM systems and production routing environments.
- Familiarity with post-production tools including Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
- Background in video production, communications technology, or related field.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-
Limited travel is required based on requirements and location of productions and service needs including meetings at client offices and AVI-SPL offices.
