- Develop system concepts (system architecture, functional and technical specifications) for complex communication systems
- Select suitable components, including third-party components
- Analyze requirements and translate them into system designs
- Identify conflicting requirements and document them in equipment lists, block diagrams, and compliance matrices
- Clarify technical details and coordinate with clients
- Create functional and non-functional specifications for systems, subsystems, and components, including detailed specifications
- Contribute to acquisition activities, including requirement evaluation, preliminary system design, effort estimation, and technical proposal preparation
- Define and plan new products in line with company strategy and market requirements
- Support the definition and provision of suitable infrastructure for system development and optimization of system engineering processes
- Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a comparable qualification
- At least 3 years of professional experience in communications engineering
- Ability to design innovative and future-oriented communication and IT architectures
- Knowledge of military radio transmission methods and experience in electrical and electronic system design
- Familiarity with communication and network technologies, including radio equipment, SatCom, modems, and cryptographic devices
- Knowledge of ATM and Ethernet/IP networks and serial interfaces
- Familiarity with naval procedures, standards, and command and control systems
- Initiative, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a team
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Good German and English skills, both written and spoken
