About the role
Packsize is seeking a Regional Field Safety Specialist – Europe to support our European Field Service teams, with a primary focus on Germany and surrounding regions. This home-based role partners with field leadership and customers to drive safety compliance, standardize safe work practices, and support field operations across multiple European countries. The role includes conducting field audits, coaching Field Service Engineers, managing customer health and safety requirements, and developing regional safety programs. We are looking for a self-driven professional who enjoys working independently, building strong relationships, and influencing a positive safety culture. This position includes a company vehicle and throughout Europe.
What You'll Do
Conduct field safety audits, inspections, and ride-alongs with Field Service Engineers across Europe.
Coach employees and field leaders on safe work practices, hazard recognition, Lockout/Tagout, machine safeguarding, ergonomics, and contractor safety.
Serve as the regional subject matter expert for customer health and safety requirements, ensuring compliance documentation is accurate and maintained.
Develop and standardize safety programs, SOPs, RAMS, JHAs, risk assessments, forms, and customer-required documentation.
Conduct compliance audits and identify opportunities to improve safety performance and standardization.
Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Manage regional safety data within VelocityEHS, including incidents, inspections, hazards, and corrective actions.
Partner with Works Councils, customers, regulators, and internal stakeholders to support regional compliance initiatives.
Monitor changes in European health and safety regulations and recommend improvements.
Travel throughout Europe (approximately 20%) to support field operations and customer sites.
What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4 years of EHS experience supporting field service, manufacturing, industrial equipment, or multi-site operations.
Experience managing customer health and safety documentation, contractor safety, and regulatory compliance across Europe.
Fluent in English; German proficiency strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of European health and safety regulations and country-specific compliance requirements.
Experience developing safety programs, SOPs, RAMS, JHAs, and risk assessments.
Experience conducting field audits, safety observations, ride-alongs, and compliance assessments.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
Ability to work independently while managing priorities across multiple countries.
High ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Europe.
Nice to have
Experience in industrial equipment, automation, manufacturing, or field service environments.
Knowledge of European regulatory frameworks such as NF C 18-510, DGUV, VCA, CDM, or other regional safety standards.
ISO 45001/14001 experience and/or professional safety certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.).
Previous experience working with European Works Councils or similar consultation structures.
Experience supporting multinational operations with varying regional compliance requirements.
