Daisytuner is building the software layer for the next generation of computing. We make complex software run efficiently on any processor—from CPUs and GPUs to novel accelerators—using a self-learning compiler and cloud-scale optimization infrastructure.
Our team brings together researchers and engineers from RWTH Aachen, TU Munich, TU Darmstadt, and ETH Zurich to tackle some of the hardest problems in systems and infrastructure software. If you want to work on deeply technical challenges with real-world impact, join us and help shape the future of compute.
As a Software Engineer – Developer Platform, you will help build the engineering platform that powers Daisytuner's compiler development. We already have a growing ecosystem of internal tooling—including dashboards, GitHub integrations, automated testing, benchmarking infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines—but we're looking for someone who enjoys taking good engineering systems and making them exceptional.
This is not a typical web development role. Your users are compiler engineers developing cutting-edge optimization technology. You'll improve developer workflows, extend our GitHub automation, strengthen our testing infrastructure, build intuitive dashboards for compiler performance and benchmarking results, and create tools that make it easier to understand, debug, and improve our software.
We're looking for someone who genuinely cares about software engineering. Someone who enjoys building polished developer tools, thinks carefully about testing strategies and software architecture, and wants to create systems that other engineers love using. You'll have significant ownership, work directly with the founders and compiler engineers, and help shape the engineering platform as Daisytuner grows.
What you will be doing
- Develop modern web applications and dashboards using TypeScript and React
- Improve and extend our engineering platform for compiler development, benchmarking, and performance analysis
- Expand our GitHub integrations using webhooks, GitHub Actions, and the GitHub API
- Improve our testing infrastructure across multiple repositories, making it more reliable, maintainable, and easier to extend
- Build automation that simplifies engineering workflows and reduces manual effort
- Develop dashboards and visualizations for benchmark results, compiler performance, optimization KPIs, CI/CD status, and engineering metrics
- Design and implement caching strategies to improve application responsiveness and scalability
- Build backend APIs and services that power our internal tooling
- Improve observability by surfacing test failures, performance regressions, and engineering insights in a clear and actionable way
- Collaborate closely with compiler engineers to understand their workflows and build tools that remove friction from their daily work
- Take ownership of features from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and long-term maintenance
What you are bringing
- Strong experience developing applications with TypeScript and React
- Excellent software engineering skills and a passion for writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested software
- Experience designing testing strategies and building reliable automated test suites
- Experience working with GitHub APIs, webhooks, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD systems
- Experience designing and building modern full-stack web applications
- Strong understanding of software architecture, maintainability, testing, and developer experience
- Experience designing REST APIs and backend services
- Comfortable working with Linux, Git, and modern software development workflows
- Curiosity and the ability to quickly understand complex technical domains
- Strong communication skills in English
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker and containerized development environments
- Experience building dashboards or developer tools
- Experience with data visualization libraries
- Interest in compilers, high-performance computing, machine learning infrastructure, or developer tooling
- Previous startup or open-source experience
What we offer
- A six-month project with significant ownership and responsibility
- The opportunity to build tools that are used every day by a highly technical compiler engineering team
- A fast-moving startup environment where your ideas can directly influence our engineering practices
- Competitive compensation
- Exposure to modern compiler technology, cloud infrastructure, and high-performance computing
