Your Tasks
- Participation in the concept development for offshore installation parallel to the pipeline
- Assessment of suitable high-sea fiber optic cables, connection technology (joints) and fiber types
- Contact person for the general contractor and client.
- Coordination of the requirements for the appropriate transmission technology according to the fiber type (incl. amplifier technology).
- Installation supervision, commissioning and acceptance.
- Determination of documentation and examination of documents.
- Creation of an emergency plan for faults and repairs.
- Determination of the necessary equipment for the subsequent operation of the cable route.
- Assessment of the implementation planning.
- Planning and implementation of the fiber monitoring system (data transmission, temperature, strain, detection of sabotage, etc.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (4–5 years) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Offshore Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant professional experience (mandatory).
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in offshore cable installation projects, including fiber‑optic systems installed in parallel with offshore pipelines (mandatory).
- Proven technical knowledge of offshore fiber‑optic cable types, hybrid power/fiber systems and long‑distance transmission fibers (e.g. G655).
- Strong experience with fiber‑optic measurement technologies and monitoring systems.
- Experience in coordination with contractors, operators and telecontrol departments in multinational environments.
- Structured, independent and team‑oriented working style with strong communication skills.
- References from comparable offshore fiber‑optic cable projects.
- Full professional proficiency in English (spoken and written) (mandatory).
- German language skills are desirable but not mandatory
