This was a new area for me, Management. The Employer wasn't from Romania but Swiss, which was a huge advantage for Romanians in that time.
I learned to interact with people in textile area, my job being a combination of Manager-Sales Person-Designer. Our team was the connection of Karstadt Quelle with the Romanian textile fabrics. An interesting part it was when out buyers from Germany, Austria, France visited us. We had to organize the visit and the most part which I liked was the presenting the collections and bargaining the price of articles.
My co-workers were highly prepared for their jobs and extremely friendly, from both sides, my Romanian colleagues and from the other countries, because our employer had 65 offices all over the world.
The hardest part of my job was the limitation in designing. It was not in my duty, but was helpful for the Romanian fabrics in that time if I were a professional designer, at least to have a course, but my boss didn't accept my request to follow a fashion designer course, which was correct.
Vorteilea very good salary for that time in Romania considering it was in transition time
